Canadian service Ztele begins airing Series 3 in French this Tuesday at 8PM EDT with Smith and Jones (French title not known yet). It is unknown when/if Ztele will air The Runaway Bride, which belongs between Doomsday and this episode. Episodes will air multiple times in a week. Ztele has the French rights for Torchwood, but Torchwood is not shown in the fall lineup, so it may be 2008 before the spinoff airs. |
Party like it's 1965 on 25 August as BBC Two http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbctwo airs "Dr. Who And The Daleks", the theatrical remake of the first Dalek story. With Peter Cushing as Dr. Who, Roberta Tovey as Susan, and the Daleks as themselves. It airs from 3:20 to 4:40PM British Standard Time. |

BBC Prime http://www.bbcprime.com is now running ads confirming that they have Doctor Who. They have also updated the FAQ on their website. Rose starts the series on Saturday 1 September at 7PM Central European Time. BBC Prime covers Europe (except the British Isles), Africa, and parts of Asia. A seperate BBC Prime service for the rest of Asia was discontinued a while back and rolled into BBC Entertainment http://www.bbcentertainment.com , which is currently airing Series 2 of Doctor Who in its territories. |

BBC America's http://www.bbcamerica.com plans for Doctor Who Series 2 are becoming clearer. Episodes premiere at 7PM Eastern/4PM Pacific on Saturdays starting 8 September. Episodes repeat at 2AM Eastern/11PM Pacific. They repeat on Sunday and once the following Saturday, with the exact times moving week to week based on other programming events. Since the episodes already aired on SciFi, BBC America is leaving them out of prime time (where Series 1 ran) in favor of spinoff Torchwood, which will be having its US premiere on BBC America. BBC America still gives shows 46 minutes an hour versus 44 on SciFi, so nearly all the regular episodes will be complete (or at least more complete than SciFi's broadcasts of the same episodes). However, The Christmas Invasion will be heavily edited, as it will get a regular 1 hour timeslot, while SciFi aired it uncut in a 90 minute timeslot (with lots of ads). |
SciFi US is pre-empting Doctor Who this Friday the 31st to air special programming for Labor Day weekend. This pre-emption was planned for months - it does not say anything about SciFi's views on Who. Yes, it is in the middle of a 2 part story (Human Nature and The Family Of Blood). SciFi also did a pre-emption between The Impossible Planet and The Satan Pit last year. SciFi did a pre-emption in the middle of a 2 parter of Stargate SG-1 in 2005. When a holiday weekend comes along, SciFi will interrupt its schedule for first run shows. |
